Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1892107A1] The device (1) has a workpiece carrier device (20) carrying a workpiece (2) to be patterned. A detection device (40) detects a relative position and distance between an ink-jet printing device (10) and a surface of the workpiece to be patterned, during printing, where the detection device is placed in a preset and fixed relationship to the printing device. A control device is arranged such that nozzles (12) of the printing device are selectively connected and disconnected in dependent of a detection result of the detection device and that nozzles are adjustable in groups by an actuating unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for patterning of workpieces.
