[origin: EP1892371A1] The device has an adjustable segments (5) provided with a conical outer contour, where clamp mounting of drill pipes is adjustable by the vertical adjustment of the segments opposite a ring body of a retaining unit (1) by a controllable servo cylinder that is attached above the segments. The servo cylinder charges in an outer region of the segments through ribs (9). The ribs hold a guide rod (8) with corresponding ribs (10) of the ring body, where the guide rod guides a stretchable pressure spring (14) between the ribs (9, 10).
