Abstract (en)
[origin: CA2612155A1] The invention concerns a penetration assisting kit equipping a bomb, in particular anti-infrastructure. The kit comprises at least: launching tubes (22) mechanically secured to the bomb in each of which is placed a detonatin g projectile and its propellant charge, a detonating projectile being ejected from its tube (22) by firing its propellant charge; a system enabling the firing of each propulsive charge to be controlled before impact of the bomb (21) on a target. The invention is in particular applicable for penetrating through very thick walls made of non-metallic material such as concrete. The invention also concerns a penetrating projectile equipped with such a kit as well as a penetration method for such a projectile into a target.
