Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006136189A1] Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for monitoring unauthorized access to a predetermined memory area in an arithmetic unit (1) comprising a monitoring means (10) with at least one sensor means (11) that is configured for recognizing an event of the arithmetic unit (1). The monitoring means (10) is also provided with at least one recognizing means (12) which is configured for monitoring the behavior of the event recognized by the sensor means (11). The monitoring means (10) is integrated into a sequence pattern (15) on the arithmetic unit (1) while being configured for monitoring the sequence pattern (15) during the runtime thereof, the monitoring means (10) detecting accesses to a memory address or an address range as events (E1, E2).
