Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006136300A1] Disclosed is a device for determining a point in a film (110) comprising film data (112, 114) applied in chronological order. Said device encompasses a memory (320) for storing a reference fingerprint representation of the film data (112, 114). The fingerprint representation is configured such that a history of the fingerprint representation depends on a history of the film data while a time scale is assigned to a stored reference fingerprint representation. The inventive device further encompasses an apparatus (340) for receiving a section read by the film (110), an apparatus (350) for extracting a test fingerprint representation from the read section, and an apparatus (360) for comparing the test fingerprint representation to the reference fingerprint representation in order to determine the point in the film (110) based on the comparison and the time scale.
