Abstract (en)
[origin: DE102005028970A1] The actuator (1) has a piezoelectric layer (10) with a bulge (20) arranged between two opposite electrode layers (30) for generating electric field in the layer. A prestressing device (40) adjusts mechanical prestressing of the layer over the bulge such that the prestressing supports an expansion behavior of the actuator during generation of the field in the prestressed layer. The device has two plates (42, 44) with which the bulge of the layer is compressible. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a piezoelectric actuator.
