[origin: EP1894721A2] The device has a retaining unit (11) arranged outside of a mold cylinder (6) and separated from the mold cylinder. The retaining unit holds a flexible printing plate (1) to be mounted in an application point by a non-positive connection. A sensor or an electromechanical switch is provided, where a touch contact of the sensor or the switch produced between the retaining unit and a rear side of the printing plate is operated, when a control device engages the non-positive connection.
