Abstract (en)
The coupling head has a housing (11) provided with a front plate (12) that is provided in an area of a coupling surface with a centering opening and a centering crest (13). The plate is formed together with the centering crest as a single-piece, and the housing is provided with several heating units (25, 26, 29, 30, 31), where the heating unit (31) is guided in the crest. The heating unit (31) for heating the centering crest is guided into a wall of the crest by the front plate. The heating units (25, 26, 29) serve for heating the front plate.

Die Mittelpufferkupplung für Schienenfahrzeuge weist einen Kupplungskopf auf, der ein mit einer Stirnplatte (12) versehenes Gehäuse (11) umfasst. Die Stirnplatte (12) ist im Bereich der Kupplungsfläche mit einer Zentrieröffnung (14) sowie einer davon abstehenden Zentrierkuppe (13) versehen. Die Stirnplatte (12) ist zusammen mit der Zentrierkuppe (13) einstückig ausgebildet. Vorzugsweise ist das gesamte Gehäuse (11) inklusive Stirnplatte (12) und Zentrierkuppe (13) einstückig ausgebildet. Das Gehäuse (11) wird zusammen mit der Stirnplatte (12) und der Zentrierkuppe (13) aus einem wärmebehandelten Sphäroguss, insbesondere aus einem ADI (Austempered Ductile Iron) Gusseisenwerkstoff hergestellt. Ein derartiger Kupplungskopf kann einfach und kostengünstig hergestellt werden und eignet sich in besonders vorteilhafterweise Weise zur Aufnahme von Heizelementen (25, 26, 29, 30, 31), so dass insbesondere auch die kritischen Bereiche des Kupplungskopfgehäuses (11) beheizt werden können.
