[origin: DE102006041767B3] The method involves measuring oxygen concentration in a cooking area (4) or in an expelled moisture channel (24) during cooking process, and determining rate of change of oxygen concentration in an evaluation circuit (18.1) of an electric controller (18) of an oven. The measured concentration and the rate of change are compared with a threshold value and an optical or acoustic warning is released to a user when the measured concentration obtains a value that is lower than the threshold valve and the rate of decrease of the concentration is larger than the threshold value.
