[origin: EP1897992A1] The sleeper (10) has a body (12) with rail-laying regions (16) at its opposite ends, with the body widened within them, to which rails can be fixed by hold-down elements. Each rail-laying region has three rail resting surfaces (18) along the rail alongside each other. There is at least one hold-down element between and above at least one part region.
