[origin: EP1898009A2] The flushing mechanism for a toilet cistern has a cover (1) over the inspection opening to hold the moving operating unit (4) and at least one spring (5). The operating unit swings on an axis (4.11) with a swivel mounting (4.1) against the spring for flushing. A second swivel mounting (4.2) rotates around an axis (4.21) offset from the first axis and parallel to it.
