Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1898050A2] The system has a sealing and damping element (9) forming a linear 3-sided prism with equal sized lateral surfaces held under centrifugal force between opposing surfaces of adjacent platforms (6a,6b) of gas turbine engine blades attached to a rotor. The lateral surfaces of the sealing and damping element form convex curved friction surfaces (14) to achieve a slight pivotal motion and increase the frictional effect.
