[origin: EP1736110A1] The unit (3) provides a value of an energy of a laser beam, value of power of the laser beam for a predetermined emission duration, and value of emission duration for a predetermined power of the laser beam. The values are the function of dimension of a transversal section of a vein to be treated, internal diameter of the vein and the exponential of the diameter. The calculation unit is implemented in the form of computer program stored in a storage medium or electronic memory. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an endovenous laser comprising an operating parameter calculating unit (2) a method for adjusting the endovenous laser.
