Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007006985A1] The invention relates to a sailboat (1) which is equipped with a tilting mast (13), comprising a connecting structure (4, 5, 6), at least two hulls (2) which extend parallel to a longitudinal axis and a mast base (16) which is linked to the connecting structure such that it can pivot longitudinally around a transverse pivot axis. The inventive sailboat also comprises two lateral shrouds (18) which are fixed to two sides of the mast base and which are pivot-connected to the connecting structure such that they can pivot with the mast base. The aforementioned lateral shrouds are designed to maintain the mast base in a plane that is perpendicular to the pivot axis. In addition, the sailboat comprises a variable-length tilting mechanism (27) which is fixed to (i) the mast base and (ii) a fixed point on the connecting structure, such that a variation in the variable length causes the mast to pivot longitudinally. The tilting mechanism comprises a locking member which can lock the mechanism in at least one length configuration.
