Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007006894A1] The invention relates to pliers (1) for stripping tubular elements, in particular, electric cable (2) or similar, of the type formed by two arms (3, 4) pivoting at an intermediate point about a common axis, one (3) of the arms (3, 4) having a rotating cutting body (6) for the longitudinal slicing of the tubular element (2) for stripping, the other arm (4) being provided with centering and support means (7) for the tubular element (2), the centering means (7) and the cutting body (6) cooperating with each other to define a passage (8) for the tubular element (2). Said pliers are characterised in that the centering means (7) defines at least one support surface moving about a pivot axis (10) arranged essentially facing the rotation axis (11) of the associated cutting body (6), the rotation axis (11) and the pivot axis (10) being aligned along a line essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the passage (8) for the tubular element (2) in order to permit the support surface to self-align as a function of the diameters and profiles of the tubular element (2) to maintain the direction of the tractive force constant as exerted on the arms (3, 4) of the pliers (1).
