Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1900472A1] Flux-cored wire for welding nickel-steel comprises a steel envelop and filler elements. The wire comprises fluorine at 2-15 wt.% and nickel and iron at 8-13 wt.%. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for arc welding, by laser beam or by combining an arc with a laser beam, of a piece of steel to nickel, preferably a piece containing >= 6% of nickel, using the flux-cored wire; and (2) a joint of welding or deposited metal likely to be obtained by implementing the given process and/or melting of the flux-cored wire, comprising carbon (0.01-0.07%, preferably 0.01-0.05%), silicon (0.02-0.2%), manganese (0.15-0.6%), phosphorous (0.002-0.007%), sulfur (0.0013-0.0050%), nickel (7-13%), titanium (0.002-0.012%), aluminum (0.005-0.018%) and a majority of iron.
