Abstract (en)
The electrode support arm has an electrode retainer provided at a front end, where the retainer has a hollow section (2), which is formed by copper and/or aluminum plated steel plates (6, 10). The hollow section has round edges (R) and the plated steel plates that form a cooling channel (4) for a cooling medium diverted into the support arm. The cooling channel cools the front end of the support arm. The round edges have a ratio of an inner curvature radius to wall thickness of the plated steel plate.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Elektrodenarm für Lichtbogenöfen mit einer an seinem vorderen Ende vorgesehenen Elektrodenaufnahme, der ein Hohlprofil (2) aufweist, welches durch wenigstens eine mit Kupfer oder Aluminium plattierte Stahlplatte (6, 10) gebildet ist. Der vorliegenden Erfindung liegt das Problem zugrunde, einen den Anforderungen besser gerecht werdenden Elektrodentragarm anzugeben, dessen Hohlprofil (2) eine hinreichende Festigkeit aufweist und Spannungsspitzen im Wesentlichen vermeidet. Zur Lösung dieses Problems wird mit der vorliegenden Erfindung vorgeschlagen, einen Elektrodenarm vorzusehen, dessen Hohlprofil (2) abgerundete Ecken aufweist.
