Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1901592A1] The method involves adjusting power input of an electric discharge lamp (LA) by presetting duty cycles of two digital control signals. Semiconductor circuit breakers of a direct current to alternating current (DC/AC) converter are controlled by the control signals, where the DC/AC converter supplies a discharge lamp with AC. The circuit breakers are connected to half-bridges in series, and the duty cycles of the control signals are time variantly adjustable. An independent claim is also included for an electronic ballast comprising a converter.
