Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007006684A1] The invention relates to a light signalling system, in particular for traffic, having at least one signal generator (10) which has light-emitting diodes (11) and is intended to emit a light signal, having a control unit (40) for driving, evaluating and monitoring the signal generators (10), having power supply lines (31) and lines (32) for transmitting data between the control unit (40) and the signal generators (10), and having a switching device for driving the signal generators (10) . By virtue of the fact that a switching device is provided for each signal generator (10) and is arranged in the immediate vicinity of the latter and by virtue of the fact that the signal generators (10) are connected to the control unit (40) via a single line section (30) having the power supply lines (31) and the data transmission lines (32), a light signalling system which, particularly when signal generators (10) having energy-saving light-emitting diodes (11) are used, has a fail-safe, highly available and simple design is provided.
