The device has a lining table (11) comprising a suction plate (12) that has suction openings admitted with vacuum. A vacuum generator is used for supplying vacuum to one of the suction openings, where compressed air supply of the vacuum generator is interruptible, and pressure and/or air flow of compressed air supplied to the vacuum generator is changed. Strength of the vacuum and/or suction air flow is varied. An independent claim is also included for a method for print processing for connecting a lining strip to a sheet stack such as book block.

Fälzelstationen (10) benötigen zum Ansaugen von Fälzelmaterial (21) Unterdruck. Bekannte Fälzelstationen (10) sind zu diesem Zweck sowohl an Druckluftquellen als auch an Unterdruckquellen angeschlossen. Vor allem Unterdruckquellen sind nicht überall verfügbar. Es ist außerdem aufwendig, sowohl Druckluftleitungen als auch Unterdruckleitungen zur Fälzelstation (10) zu verlegen. Die Erfindung sieht es vor, den für Saugdüsen (25) an einer Saugplatte (12) der Fälzelstation (10) benötigten Unterdruck aus Druckluft durch Vakuumpumpen (30) zu erzeugen. Weiterhin sind Gruppen von Saugdüsen (25) vorgesehen, die individuell mit Unterdruck, der vorzugsweise von Vakuumpumpen (30) erzeugt ist, speisbar sind.
