Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007003832A1] An arrangement for agglomerating and collecting particles contained in exhaust gases of a motor vehicle internal combustion engine comprises at least one electrostatic agglomeration module (10) provided with internal (16) and external (5) electrodes between which an electric field is formed, wherein the external electrode is made of a porous material which lets the exhaust gases and agglomerated particles to pass through while the exhaust gas passage through said material and a module (12) for collecting particles located downstream of said agglomeration module in a direction of the exhaust gas flow. The inventive agglomeration arrangement also comprises a power generating device (22) provided with single step-up transformer for supplying a high DC voltage to the agglomeration and collecting modules.
