Abstract (en)
In a gantry furnace having several parallel gantries (1) defining the span of the furnace, supports (2, 6) fixed to the gantries and blocks (3) positioned between the supports to form the furnace walls, at least some of the blocks form a flue (4) with an axis parallel to the supports. An independent claim is included for a method for ventilating the gantry furnace, involving (a) forming transverse and/or vertical channels (45, 46) across at least some of the spans of the furnace by positioning blocks in the form of a flue (4) and (b) circulating gas between the furnace chamber and the channels.

Un four portique comporte une pluralité de portiques (1) disposés parallèlement les uns aux autres et définissant des travées du four, et des supports (2, 6) fixés auxdits portiques (1) entre lesquels sont positionnés des entrevous (3) constituant les parois du four. Certains au moins des entrevous (3) sont constitués par un boisseau (4) d'axe parallèle auxdits supports (2, 6).
