[origin: EP1906595A1] A method for implementing virtue-switch and the apparatus thereof. The present invention enables the data retransmission entity to implement virtue-switch transmission to the received Ethernet frame according to the virtue-switch corresponding relation including VLAN Tags of two layers by setting the virtue-switch corresponding relation including VLAN Tags of at least two layers. The present invention can extend the number of the V-Switch connection loaded on the local link to 4096x4096, even to 4096x4096x4096..., which solves the problem of VLAN resource scarcity, fulfills the requirement of V-Switch application scale, puts forward a more effective virtue-switch method, improves the switch capability of virtue-switch and extends the scale of the virtue-switch application.
