Abstract (en)

[origin: DE102005022187A1] An auxiliary thread (30) is used in an air-spinning process in a machine having a nozzle device to produce an injection stream and to form a thread on a hollow cone, the auxiliary thread (30) being cast off after spinning and then the newly spun thread (26) being knotted and spliced with the end of the upper thread (38). Independent claims are also included for (1) a spinning machine with a nozzle device (19) and a cone (25) for thread formation for use in the above process, the machine (5) having a first clamp (48) for temporary clamping of the upper thread and a second clamp (52) for temporary clamping of the auxiliary thread (30); and (2) an air spinning machine with a number of spinning stations for the above process and with a store for the auxiliary thread (30) and the newly spun thread (26), a device separating auxiliary thread (30) from thread (26) and a splicer bonding newly spun thread (26) with the upper thread (38).
