[origin: WO2007012482A1] The present invention relates to a method of lining a surface, in particular a planar surface, with a flexible covering material, in particular a textile material, in which the surface is lined with a piece of material or with a number of pieces of material of the flexible covering material and in which the piece of material or the number of pieces of material is or are tensioned. The method is characterized according to the invention in that at least one tensioning rail with a securing side and a mounting side is used for tensioning a piece of material, in that the tensioning rail is brought into pivotable engagement on the securing side with a retaining rail provided on the planar surface, in that a first side of the piece of material is brought into tensionable engagement with the mounting side of the tensioning rail, in that a second side of the piece of material is connected directly or indirectly to the planar surface and in that the tensioning rail is pivoted for tensioning the flexible covering material and is fixed in a tensioning position. The invention also relates to a lining for a surface, in particular a planar surface.
