The device has a first application mechanism (312) for applying a first coating to a carrier material (311), an irradiation unit (300) with first and second electron beam generators (301,302) for irradiating the carrier strip with connections for at least one pump for generating a working vacuum, a material feed that feeds the carrier material successively, but not necessarily directly successively, to the coating mechanism and the first and second electron beam generators. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a printing machine (B) and a method of applying at least one coating to a supporting material.

Es wird ein Auftrags-Bestrahlungs-System beschrieben, welches ein erstes Auftragswerk zum Aufbringen einer ersten Auftragsschicht auf eine Trägerbahn umfasst. Das Auftrags-Bestrahlungs-System umfasst außerdem eine Bestrahlungseinheit, in der ein erster Elektronenstrahlerzeuger und ein zweiter Elektronenstrahlerzeuger zur Bestrahlung der Trägerbahn angeordnet sind. Die innerhalb der Bestrahlungseinheit angeordneten Elektronenstrahlerzeuger weisen Anschlüsse für mindestens eine Pumpenvorrichtung zur Erzeugung eines Betriebsvakuums auf. Darüber hinaus umfasst das Auftrags-Bestrahlungs-System eine Bahnführungsvorrichtung, welche die Trägerbahn nacheinander, aber nicht notwendigerweise unmittelbar nacheinander, dem ersten Auftragswerk, dem ersten Elektronenstrahlerzeuger, dem zweiten Elektronenstrahlerzeuger zuführt.
