[origin: EP1908596A1] An ink cartridge (50) includes an ink chamber (73); a side wall (71A) having a first opening (87) formed therethrough; a valve accommodating chamber (88) configured to be in fluid communication with an outside of the ink cartridge via the first opening; a valve (139) accommodated in the valve accommodating chamber, wherein the valve is configured to move in the valve accommodating chamber to allow and prevent the fluid communication between the valve accommodating chamber and the outside of the ink cartridge via the first opening; and a particular wall (71B) extending from the side wall toward the ink chamber, the particular wall defining the valve accommodating chamber, wherein the particular wall has a second opening (104) formed therethrough, and the valve accommodating chamber is configured to be in fluid communication with the ink chamber via the second opening. The second opening is positioned above each of the valve accommodating chamber and the first opening.
