Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1908877A1] Successive transfer sections (11, 12) include a strip sensor (7), a transfer aid (6) and a separator (8). The separator directly follows the strip sensor. Strip sensors, transfer aids and separators are connected to a controller (10). On detecting a fault in the transfer operation, the strip sensor of a transfer unit (11, 12) activates the separator of the previous transfer unit, via the controller. When the transfer strip is detected, the sensor deactivates the transfer aid device of the previous unit, via the controller. Once the transfer strip has been detected, the sensor activates the transfer aid of the current transfer unit. The sensor is optical, detects pressure or heat. The transfer aids are air-blowing nozzles or transfer belts. The separator unit is a blast pipe. Several drying sections are so equipped. The fibrous web (1) is led into the drying sections supported on a drying sieve belt (2). It meanders over the heated drying cylinders (3) and guide rollers (4). Each transfer unit (11, 12) comprises a drying section. Alternatively, one drying section comprises several transfer units. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding method of carrying the transfer strip of a web through the drying section.
