Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1908952A2] A pressure booster (6), arranged into the needle section (3) of a fuel injector (1), increases the fuel injection pressure opposite the system pressure. The booster includes a piston (22) reciprocated within the needle section and a communicating nozzle area (23) in communication with the spray holes (5) of the needle section. A nozzle needle (25) disposed in the piston includes a throttled coupling path (19b) connecting the nozzle area and the translation area (24) of the booster.
