A lighting device for at least one sign element, such a device comprising: - a panel having a bottom surface and a front surface opposite to such a bottom surface; - at least one light source arranged inside the panel; - at least one transparent element arranged outside the panel and in contact, on one side, with the front surface and, on the opposite side, with a corresponding sign element to be illuminated, said front surface being suitable for diffusing the light emitted by said at least one light source to the outside of the panel, and said at least one transparent element being suitable for collecting said light diffused outside of the panel and transmitting it so as to illuminate said corresponding sign element, is able to illuminate at least one sign element uniformly and with good results in terms of aesthetic quality when read, whatever the shape and size of the element(s).
