Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007014738A1] The invention relates to a suspension system for the wheel axles of a self-driving vehicle having a rigid vehicle frame (1), driving wheels (4) and one or two steerable wheels (3), wherein at least one of the axles is suspended by means of longitudinal pivoting arms (5) so as to be pivotable (5b) relative to the rigid frame (1) in order to be able to compensate for ground inclinations extending in the direction of travel (A) of the vehicle and transversely with respect thereto, wherein the pivoting movement (5b) of the longitudinal pivoting arms (5) is transmitted through a transverse rod (6) which is mounted so as to be rotatable (6c) on the frame (1) and is driven by at least one hydraulic cylinder (7) which acts between the frame (1) and at least one drive arm (6b) which projects from said transverse rod (6), and wherein the transverse rod (6) transmits the movement (6c) to the pivotable (5b) longitudinal pivoting arms (5), which support the axle (9), by means of two transmitting arms (6a) and by means of in each case one hydraulic cylinder (8) for each of said arms (6a).
