Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1911582A2] The method involves feeding a drive (19) at drive wheels (1', 1'', 2', 4', 5', 6') of corresponding plate and/or impression cylinder, blanket cylinder, pressure cylinder, inking roller and engraved roll in a printing-/varnishing operation of a main drive. An individual drive (9) of the engraved roll is inactivated in the printing-/varnishing operation. A drive connection to the main drive between the drive wheels (1', 1'') is disconnected, and the individual drive is activated, in a setting-up operation. Driving torque is introduced on the drive wheels (5', 6') by the individual drive. An independent claim is also included for a drive for actuating a printing unit with a short inking system.
