[origin: WO2007017132A1] The invention relates to a connection element (10) consisting of a flat material for the secure fixing of a lever-type cam follower (2) used to actuate a gas exchange valve (4) of an internal combustion engine, to a supporting element (6) comprising a spherical end (7) extending from a cylindrical section (22) in a continuous manner or without undercuts, on which end the cam follower (2) is mounted in such a way that it can pivot about a rotary point (9), by means of a cap-type formation (8), in the direction of the gas exchange valve (4). Said connecting element (10) surrounds the cylindrical section (22) with elastically deformable projections (21) extending from central sections (19), parallel to the pivoting axis of the cam follower (2), in such a way that the connection element (10) is only connected to the cylindrical section (22) in a frictionally engaged manner. The projections (21) are embodied as tongues (20) which are at an angle to the central sections (19) and extend in a direction opposing the cam follower (2), such that the projections (21) are, as such, elastically deformable.
