Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007017109A1] Disclosed is a switchable valve actuating mechanism comprising a camshaft (4) which is provided with at least one first cam (12) and a second cam (14) that is higher than the first cam, as well as a valve lever (6) which rests on a machine-mounted part (8) and on the valve (2) to be actuated. Said valve lever (6) encompasses a first component (38) for sensing the first cam and a second component (58) for sensing the second cam, the second sensing component being mounted on an eccentric element (32) that is rotatably mounted on the valve lever. The inventive valve actuating mechanism further comprises a locking mechanism (66), by means of which the eccentric element can be prevented from rotating such that the second sensing component (58) translates the contour of the second cam (14) into an actuation of the valve when the eccentric element is prevented from rotating while the first sensing component (38) translates the contour of the first cam (12) into an actuation of the valve when the eccentric element is able to rotate.
