Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007014793A1] The present invention relates to an injection nozzle (1) for an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle, comprising a nozzle body (2) which has at least one spray hole (3), a nozzle needle (5) which is mounted in the nozzle body (2), so as to be adjustable in terms of stroke, for controlling an injection of fuel through the at least one spray hole (3), and a transmitter piston (15) which is drive-coupled to an actuator (13) and has a transmitter face (16) which delimits a transmitter space (17). According to the invention, the nozzle needle (5) has a control face (10) which delimits a control space (11); in order to dampen the movement of the nozzle needle (5) into its needle seat (8) as the nozzle needle (5) closes, a damping piston (18) is arranged in the nozzle body (2) so as to be adjustable in terms of stroke, said damping piston (18) separating the control space (11) from the transmitter space (17); and in addition, a damping path (21) is provided which hydraulically connects the transmitter space (17) to the control space (11) in a throttled manner.
