Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007017595A2] The invention relates to a method and devices enabling a user to visualise a real passenger compartment in a synthesis environment. According to the invention, the real passenger compartment is at least partially surrounded by a uniformly coloured screen. The user is provided with a virtual reality helmet comprising at least one visualisation screen, a camera, and a position sensor. The image received by the camera is analysed by a calculator such that the pixels of a colour which corresponds to that of the uniformly coloured screen are replaced by the corresponding pixels of a synthesis image, the synthesis image being calculated according to the position determined by the movement sensor. The image consisting of the image received by the camera and the synthesis image is transmitted, in real-time, to the visualisation screen of the virtual reality helmet.
