Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1914606A1] The timepiece has a movement provided with a striking mechanism and a cathedral gong (12) struck by a hammer for emitting sound. A gong isolator prevents untimely contact between the gong and other components e.g. plate or another gong (10), of the timepiece, and is constituted of a ring (16), a thimble (18), a coupling sleeve (20), a bracket and a rod, where the ring is made of an elastically deformable plastic material. The rod is pivotable in an eccentric manner on an immobile element of the timepiece and is arranged at a distance from the gong.
