[origin: WO2007017420A1] The invention concerns a process for continuous production of styrene polymers by anionic spray polymerization characterized in that i) styrene and the initiator solution are mixed in a dynamic or static mixer and subsequently spray dispensed, ii) the droplets formed transition from the liquid monomeric state into the molten polymeric state during their free fall in the spray tower, iii) the melt droplets are collected as a melt at the foot of the tower, the melt having a monomer content of below 1%, preferably below 0.1% (< 1000 ppm), and being discharged by means of a suitable apparatus.
