Abstract (en)

The identification method involves forming a signature (62) comprising characteristic features of an article that is processed on a sorting plant. The signature is compared with a predetermined number of formed signatures of articles in a search space during processing on a different sorting plant. The search space is limited by sorting plant data (68), which is associated with the article, of the sorting plant that processes the article for identification, such that the sorting plant data is obtained from a sorting logic by which a sequence of sorting plants and sorting programs is defined. An independent claim is also included for a signature comparator.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Identifizieren von Gegenständen, bei dem zu einem Gegenstand eine Signatur (62) gebildet wird, die charakteristische Merkmale des Gegenstands umfasst, und zur Identifizierung des Gegenstands die Signatur (62) mit einer Vielzahl von in einer früheren Signaturbildung gebildeten Erstsignaturen (50) von Gegenständen eines Suchraums (70) verglichen wird. Um eine zu einer Signatur passende Erstsignatur schnell und zuverlässig auffinden zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Suchraum (70) durch dem Gegenstand zugeordnete Sortieranlagedaten (68) beschränkt wird.
