[origin: EP1916211A2] The device has a drive (32) for moving and positioning a nozzle unit (24) in a web width direction such that a pneumatic nozzle (28) of the nozzle unit is directed on a longitudinal edge region at a web longitudinal edge of a printing web (4). A drive control device (38) controls the drive depending on a target value signal (36), which is an indicative for a position of the longitudinal edge, such that the nozzle unit with pneumatic nozzle is positioned in a target position adjacent to the longitudinal edge region during operation with different printing webs with different width.
