[origin: EP1916873A1] The element (1) has a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element (5), where insulating housing surrounds the positive temperature coefficient heating element. Electric conductor tracks are in contact with the PTC heating element on opposing sides. The housing consists of housing shell element (2) and a mating shell element (3), which rest against each other with a sealing strip (4) interposed between elements, and enclose and seal the PTC heating element. An independent claim is also included for an additional electric heater for a motor vehicle with a layer structure held in a frame.
