[origin: WO2007020359A2] The invention relates to a method of producing a sheet material using paper-making means. The inventive sheet comprises at least one fibrous layer (5) having two opposing faces and at least one window on each of the faces, said fibrous layer being formed by depositing fibres on a surface (3). The sheet material also comprises at least one strip structure (7) which is embedded at least partially in the fibrous layer and which is equipped with two opposing faces (8; 9) and at least one raised segment (10) on at least one of said faces. The inventive method consists in bringing the strip structure (7) into contact with the fibrous layer being formed, such that the face (8) of the strip structure comprising the raised segment (10) is disposed opposite the above-mentioned surface (3). The raised segment (10) is sufficiently thick to remain at least partially exposed on one face of the fibrous layer, such as to form one of the windows in the fibrous layer.
