[origin: WO2007020116A1] The invention relates to a hot-film air-mass sensor which is used to measure an air-mass flow which flows in the main direction of the flow, which can be used, in particular, in the suction tract of an internal combustion engine. Said hot-air mass sensor comprises a sensor chip (110) which is provided with a measuring surface (114). Said air-mass flow flows in an essentially parallel manner over one surface (214) of the sensor chip (110). A flow separating element (224) is mounted upstream from the measuring surface (114) in relation to the direction of the main flow (122).The at least one flow separating element (224) is embodied in such a manner that the air-mass flow is separated prior to reaching the measuring surface (114) in at least one separating area (230) of the surface (214) of the sensor chip (110).
