[origin: WO2007017393A2] The invention relates to a method for processing data items and/or instructions during which the processing is different between at least two operating modes, and a first operating mode corresponds to a comparison mode and a second operating mode corresponds to a performance mode. During the comparison mode, a comparison unit is activated, and this comparison unit is deactivated in the performance mode.
