[origin: WO2007020241A2] The invention relates to a dishwasher comprising a trough (40) that is made at least in part of stainless metal, is open in the front and on the bottom, and is provided with walls (11, 17, 18, 19). The dishwasher further comprises a separate housing as well as a mounting base (16) that is made at least in part of plastic. The trough (40) is placed on the mounting base (16) to form a washing receptacle (14) while the bottom wall (3) of the washing receptacle is formed by the mounting base (16). The visible surface of the bottom wall (3) of the washing receptacle formed by the mounting base (16) inside the washing receptacle (14) is obtained at least in part by an inserted stainless steel part on the mounting base (16) such that a stainless steel surface having a great optical effect for the user can be obtained in the whole interior of the washing receptacle (14) even when a dishwasher platform is used that comprises a stainless steel trough placed on a plastic mounting base.
