[origin: EP1920884A1] The method involves arranging a grinding belt with a freely clamped belt section on the convex surface section of a workpiece. The grinding belt is pressed against the workpiece surface to be machined by a roller for machining the concave surface section. The grinding belt is guided on a deflection roller. The deflection roller and the workpiece are adjusted relative to each other for machining the convex and concave surfaces.
