[origin: EP1920889A1] The impulse tool has an inertia trip device (5) which has at least one trip piston (8) which is movable relative to the drive rotor (3) for changing the air feed (6) between the open and closed positions, and an annular inertia component (9) which is co-rotatable by the drive rotor. By the inner contour of the inertia component, at least one drive component (11), which is radially adjustable relative to the drive rotor, can be deflected upon achieving the trip impulse. The drive component is movably connected to a release device (13), movable between a released and an arrested position, for the trip piston.
