[origin: GB2430005A] A lock assembly comprises a casing 1 and a bolt member 2 having a bolt portion 3 and a lath portion 4. A connecting member 5 has a slot 15 locating over a casing post 11 and is connected to the lath potions by means of projection 12 engaging into recesses 13. A cam member 6 has a projection 7 that engages into a slot 9 on the bolt lath and against a projection 8 on the connecting member 5 to extend and retract the bolt member 2. The engagement of post 11 in slot 15 causes the connecting member to move upwardly and downwardly with respect to the lath portion 4 as the bolt is extended and retracted and this movement, guided by the projections 12 in slots 13, maintains the projection 8 in contact with projection 7 and allows an increased bolt throw. A deadlocking member 16 automatically engages the bolt lath 4 and is released by action of the projection 7.
