[origin: EP1923549A2] The cooling system has a main pump (1) for the recirculation of a cooling agent of a vehicle engine (2) in one internal cooling agent cycle. A thermostat (3) is for the temperature dependent conveyance of the cooling agent by a principal arm, which has cooling agent condenser (8). A pump unit (10) is driven by the flowing cooling agent, which flows through a low-temperature condenser (7). A heat exchanger (16) is arranged downstream to the low temperature condenser. The pump unit is arranged in the principal arm. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling charge air or exhaust gas of a motor vehicle.
