[origin: WO2007028522A2] The invention relates to a device for cooling shrink fit chucks (5) having a longitudinal axis (A) using a coolant. Said device (1) comprises at least one coolant nozzle (2) for spraying the coolant onto the shrink fit chuck (5) or onto the inserted insertion tool and a container (3) for shielding the sprayed coolant towards outwards, the container (3) being displaceable along the longitudinal axis of the shrink fit chuck (5). The invention also relates to a corresponding cooling method. Finally, the invention relates to a device for receiving chucks which comprises a seat configured within an internal diameter. Balls are arranged on the internal diameter at regular distances and especially at angles of 120°, 60°, etc. to each other. Said balls project beyond the internal diameter into the seat so that the received chuck rests only against the balls.
